In a soft yellow and delicate floral pattern, the Berkshire is the coziest of the Main House rooms. The creamy white wrought iron headboard is reminiscent of the Locke daughters’ beds originally in this room. Look in the armoire for their name tags – Mary and Ida – where they hung their nightgowns. This room originally adjoined the Abington. The fireplace corner with Delia Locke’s charming rocking chair provides views of the bluff gardens and trees. Your view of the Persimmon tree in fall is spectacular. Its en-suite bathroom in yellows and greens has a walk-in shower and views of the Sierra foothills. Guests say it has the charm of a country cottage room.
